So I got this monitor 2 days back, nice monitor and all, love the contrast on this VA panel.

Just one small issue, got this monitor for 2 reasons, VA panel and HDR10 capable (Doesn't local dimming, but will do for the price range)

The Display

I am connected with the provided HDMI 2.0 cable and installed monitor driver (Tried different high speed cable, not sure on the version) no luck.\

Hardware wise I meet the requirement with HDMI 2.0 port and intel 630 dealing with displays until the discrete GPU kicks in games.

I even installed the HEVC codec which got the HDR to show up on netflix and youtube on edge (Another issue for another time), but that option is still not available..

Any pointers would be appreciated!

Have you tried enabling it on the monitor to start with?

Yes, after lot of hours wasted yesterday, called Benq up and told me it could be defective and to return it.

I am just waiting for the replacement to arrive to send this one out, so far I am really liking it, HDR aside.

So I got the replacement the issue still persist.

I noticed their support isn't the best and that's putting it nicely

Apparently my intel driver doesn't support HDR, nor does newer versions. The laptop's website doesn't have a specific intel driver for it either

A little update

The laptop FX503VD does not have the LSPCON chip needed for HDR to work, it's no where mentioned on the website, but I finally heard back from Asus. I now have an HDR monitor I can't use haha
