Getting an external HDD working with samsung galaxy tab S6

Per the title my step dad has recently acquired a samsung galaxy tab S6 and around the same time his old external HDD@s wireless failed so he got a new one. It's a seagate model and accessing it's functionality is as simple as typing www.seagatewirles.com into a web browser. This works fine on his ipad and his iphone as well as my desktop. However on the galaxy tab s6 attempting to enlarge a picture or play a video or whatever by tapping on the file or selecting it with the selection tool so you can move/delete/copy/download/whatever dosen;t work, it's like the parts of the page outside the navigation buttons aren't recognising inputs. ried with a couple of different browsers. I'm suspecting some kind of security issue but no idea what setting could be out of whack. Anyone got any idea's?

p.s no other input problems noted and my Samsung S9 phone works perfectly with it.
