Hey guys so I bought a craigslist pc a few months ago and Ive played around a bit with the case, and Ive determined that I hate it. Its a thermaltake core v21, and it just kinda big and doesnt really seem to fit the 2 120 rads I have. I have the 120 cpu rad mounted on the rear exhaust and it seems to be working fine, but the 1080ti hybrids rad seems to be heating up the case. I have it mounted in one of the top front positions, and after playing a game for a while, the metal and case is really hot right where the rad is. I replaced the stock evga fan with a 120 noctua fan and have it set to about a constant 65% in the bios. The temps itself arent that bad, but I would expect them to be a bit better. Im getting around 65-67c after playing shadow of the tomb raider for a while and the cpu is sitting at around 50.

So is there something wrong with my setup here? Im thinking I might just get a new case because theres really not that much room to mount the rads in this one.

For reference, I have the 180mm fan intake on the front, a 120mm fan with the cpu rad on the back exhaust, and the 120mm fan also exhausting out the top with the gpu rad.

Ive also included pics (sorry about the cable management, I havent dedicated any time with the crappy case). The red zone is where the case gets kind of uncomfortably hot.

Thanks guys!

Your temps seem normal.

The exhaust of the rad is going to be warm and the case is going to be warm if that's where the exhaust is pointed.

Do you need the case to be cooler to the touch or is it just worrying?

It makes sense that the case is getting hot. The heat from the gpu has to get exhausted somewhere. If you fully load up your cpu with a stress test and put your hand out back where the radiator exhaust is, you'll feel heat as well

print "Hello World!" ("Hello World!")
