So me and my roommates have a Mitsubishi Wd-52327 in our living room that we (mostly they) play games on. The TV screen is really dark. We upped the brightness all the way with little success. I ended up replacing the lamp in it with a brand new one, and it worked great for a day or two (very bright), and then it went dark again. Any thoughts or tips as to how to resolve this?

Thanks!

Low quality new bulb, eco mode, or the lighting circuit needs to be "refreshed" with a new ballast and possibly some other repairs.

honestly.. ditch it and buy a new one. projection TVs are terrible...

You should get rid of your LCD, its terrible and has poor image quality.  Projection TVs, especially DLP, are dirt cheap while providing good to great image quality.  IQ depends on how new and or high end the set was to begin with though.

i've had a projection TV, it was awful from pretty much any direction. you can get a big LCD for 2-300 bucks these days, and you dont need a forklift to move your TV to the other room.

DLP projection TVs are light.  I can pick up a 55" set by my self.  Tube based projection TVs are exceptionally heavy however, and while they can provide excellent image quality when tuned properly, the tubes burn out over time and are expensive to replace because of all the calibration required to get the convergence correct.

OK I'll look into the settings. I just find it weird that it worked like new for a day or two

The way the bulbs work generates different requirements as the bulb ages.  If the ballast is not working properly, the brightness would go down rapidly as the bulb "breaks in".
