Choice for 2080ti Custom watercooling

Go to solution Solved by PowerBaller,

In EVGA's case the FTW3 model has the water block version, it lacks aRGB but compatibility is out of you concern. They have seperate waterblocks for designate models too.

Top designers in water blocks are EKWB and bitspower.

The price differentials between 2080Ti variants mainly originate from their GPU binning, power delivery, thermal solution, and aesthetics. ( Why does a RGB-less Kingpin 2080 ti is list for $600 more than the entry evga 2080 ti ? Their chips are in the top 1% binned, almost limitless VRM over 500 watt; they are created to sit on the throne in 3Dmark record)

That say, if you dont OC or mildly OC only, buy the founders edition or other cheap variant, and a good water block will yields significant satisfaction.

And FYI, Gigabyte Graphic card has the worst thermal performance compare to EVGA Asus MSI and Galax.

I'm kind of a noob here, sorry if this question is dumb...

If I'm going to buy a 2080 ti and install a custom water-cooling block, does it matter which card I choose? I know that the chips are all from Nvidia. I wonder if the cards from Nvidia/Gigabyte/EVGA etc. has different materials, or it's just difference in cooling parts and power supply to the chip? Will there be performance difference with the cooling fans uninstalled?

I feel it's a waste to buy $1300 2080 ti Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme and dismount its good looking fans...

get a card which fits reference design PCB, just because the waterblocks will be available for much longer (probably years) So if something bad happens to your Block you can just buy another. If you go with a Custom PCB card chances are high that due to the limited production you arent able to buy a waterblock for it in a year or two..
