Hi,

I would like to build a new gaming and I am not sure if everything is good in my list. The objective is to play in 1440p @120-144Hz (already have the monitor and the GPU). The budget is around 1000€ (not taking into account the GPU). If the build could be silent, it would be a nice plus.

I could also salvage a 5 years old PSU, a 80+ Bronze 700W Be Quiet Pure Power L8, from my current build (don't how long a PSU can last).

Thanks in advance for the help.

i would not get a 660p for saving games, it is basically same as a harddrive. better just get a cheap 4tb hdd.

otherwise it seems good, a 3600x should be good with rtx 2080. maybe more ram, get 2x16gb good ram before ram price go up again.

x570 is quite expensive. but amd doesn't have anything else yet coz they making oem happy. Intel is releasing their 10th gen cpu, the price is very good compare to amd.

For psu check out PSU Tier list, and pick the cheapest one in A tier, spending 135 for a 750w is not value.

also mail in rebate is such a scam in NA, im not sure how good it is in EU.

700W is too OP. better get the 550W Rmx or Focus Gold. or at least 650W.

since you own gpu just go with 3700X. 16Gb is sufficient, and 660P is good.

Why would ram price go up again?

We don't have the pricing for Intel 10th gen consumer chips yet

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

When? I haven't heard news that B550 will come soon

still rumor actually tbh. but the point is dont wait for 10th gen prices to comes. eventually AMD will sell things equivalent to 10th gen with cheaper price.

It is not WAY BETTER THAN HDD.

It is absolutely garbage drive. Dynamic SLC cache means when you fill it up, the speed keeps going down. At the end the speed is same as a HDD.

I don't know where ur confidence comes from, I would recommend 660P if the price is like 2x HDD price. Right now it's around 5x HDD price and it's not value at all.

Ram is forecast to shortage 2020.

we have OEM tray pricing already, and retail pricing is usually within 50 dollar of tray pricing.

Go with the R5 3600 instead if the price is a lot cheaper. The R5 3600X does come with a free game though if AMD are still doing the promotion so factor that into your decision.

You don't need a cooler like that for the 3600/X. A cheap air cooler will do fine. The Arctic Freezer 34 esports duo is usually priced pretty well. Extra thermal paste isn't needed either.

That board isn't that great for an X570. I would look at the MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX as a cheaper alternative.

If you can buy the SSD from Germany then the Sabrent Rocket 1TB is a better option.

That case doesn't have the best airflow. I would look at something like a Fractal Meshify C, Phanteks Enthoo Pro M or CoolerMaster H500 etc.

Go with a different psu than the G3. You can check out the psu tier list on here for ideas. A Corsair TMX or RMx would be better for example.

Thanks @lee32uk, I updated the list but I get a warning regarding the size of the GPU in the Meshify C. Do you know if it is going to fit?

Yeah I didn't realise how big that MSI gpu is. The Meshify C can fit a 315mm gpu with the front fans fitted but that gpu is 327mm so you would have to remove a fan, so not really ideal. There is the Meshify S2 though if you like that case and that is a slightly bigger version so it would fit fine in there. The Phanteks and CoolerMaster cases I mentioned would also be fine.

I will go with the SilverStone RL06. Below the list with the changes:

@Strangloss

I would go with the Corsair RMx over the Seasonic Focus.

Also AMD are doing a promotion with certain cpu's/gpu's. The R5 3600X qualifies for a free game:

I changed for the RMx. I saw the promotion, but I already have RTX 2080 and I don't feel like buying a new GPU for a game.

Thanks for the help!

You can claim a free game when you buy the 3600X. A choice of Borderlands 3 or The Outer Worlds.

For the price, I think the eSports Duo is such a solid cooler choice.

If silence is the goal, nothing (or at least very few things on the market) is quieter than the Dark Rock Pro 4, or even the Dark Rock 4.

They will be more expensive than the 34 DUO though.
