Get a Decent board .. you can upgrade the GPU later ..
a Motherboard is something that will last long with you .. I would even suggest to go for x570 .. Keep in mind that future GPUs (Probably when you upgrade) will support PCIe 4.0 .. so why not have it from now ..

I'd suggest Asus Crosshair VIII Hero Wifi .. or MSI Carbon ..

Rig1LianLi O11 Dynamic Evo | Asus Crosshair VIII Formula | Ryzen 9 5950x  | 2TB Gen 4 | 64 GB  RTX 4090 | Samsung 49" 5120x1440

Rig2: TT Tower 200 | Asus X670e-i | Ryzen 9 7950X3D | 2TB Gen 5 | 64 GB  RTX 4090 | Samsung 57" 7680x2160  | Oculus Quest Pro

No, don't listen to the person who said you should buy the Crosshair VIII or the Carbon. The crosshair is overpriced, and the carbon is overpriced and awful for the price.

Don't pay $400 for a motherboard, it is totally unnecessary. These will get the job done, give you some features and a solid upgrade path to even a 16 core cpu down the line. Take your pick, as they are both very good.:

MSI Carbon

have you seen what vrm temps that thing does?

and what's up in here with those recommendations? you don't need that much for a 2700x, something like a pro carbon, tomahawk and many more would easily do

OP: i suggest you take a look at this, and make your choice, and name the psu while you're at it, that might be more worth it to spend some of that budget on.

In the x570 chipset motherboards, you can't go wrong with the best two from the video below: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite or Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus

There's also an Aorus Elite with WiFi for around 15-20$ more.

The Asrock x570 Steel Legend is also decent... not great but acceptable. It won't throttle the CPU, it's stable, has OK features.

If you want even cheaper, there's B450 boards that are decent

Look at this spreadsheet and pick motherboards with at least TWO green checkmarks in the center columns, this means the board is good enough to handle even 12-16 core processors so you'll have room to upgrade.

The ones with a checkmark all the way to the right have BIOS Flashback which allows you to update bios without installing a cpu - helpful if you go from the start with a 3rd gen Ryzen and the motherboard was made a few months ago (but most stores don't keep so many boards in stock so by now most boards should come with Ryzen 3rd gen compatible bios)

So looking at spreadsheet MSI has the most models that have good performance... you could go with a B450 or B450M Gaming Plus, or B450-A Pro  or B450 Tomahawk  or X470 Gaming Plus / Pro if you can still find these x470 boards anymore. There's also these Gaming Plus boards with MAX at the end of the name, that MAX just means the bios chip has a larger size, so you get bios with background images, full color icons and all that. The non-max models will have less images in BIOS and I think they drop support for non-Zen based processors (there were some AM4 cpus made before Ryzen processors but used only by OEM companies like HP or Dell)

thank you everyone i will now be reading up on the ones suggested and watch the video, if i get one of the 200 boards what would be a good graphics card to get.. i play mostly racing games, but always watch movies via netflix and hulu

also the power supply i have is Thermaltake - SMART 700W ATX 80 Plus Power Supply - Black

To be fair, if you dont need the pci4.0 you would be better off with a good X470.

Paying 200$ for a mid range 570, you can pay the same for a X470 Taichi that is one of the best AM4 of that time well capable of 16 cores and packed with features.
