Hi guys sorry if I’m doing anything wrong this is the first time I have ever used a forum. Any way here it goes so yesterday I bought a second hand AMD Ryzen 5 3400g. I took it home updated my motherboards bios (Asus Prime B450-Plus ) to the latest version. That supports the new zen 3 line up so after updating everything changing CPUs I was ready to play some games. But all my hopes where crushed when out of no where random ports on my pc would just stop working. First it was my mouse the cursor would not move but the mouse would still be light up. Then my ethernet port wouldn’t work then my headphones anyway you get the idea so I start to move things around to different USB ports. But nothing it is like a virus spreading to all my ports and the only way that my pc would become slightly usable is if I hard reset my pc then I would only get about 15 minutes max use before it would happen again. I should also like to say that before I changed my cpu that’s the system was working perfectly. SO PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME IM AT MY WITTS END

my pc specs are:

CPU:- (Ryzen 3 2200g before upgrade)

           (Ryzen 5 3400g after upgrade)

mobo:- ASUS Prime B450-plus

Gpu:- GTX 1070

Ram:- 16gbs DDR 4

Psu:- Corsair 750w

storage:- Kingston 128gb ssd and 2t hhd

If it resets after your computer restarts, then that sounds like Driver failure. Did you make sure to update all of your drivers? and i do mean all of them not just device specific.

I did have a look for driver updates but i previously updated them all and there hasn’t be any since then.

Though it may be extremely tedious, but try throwing your old CPU in the board and see if you still get the issue.

Ye I was thinking about doing that but I wanted to exhaust all my options before having to do that.

If it's not a driver issue I can't imagine it'd be anything else.
