I currently have 16Gb (2x8) of RAM. I bought another 2 single 8Gb modules from the same store, with the same speed, same brand, and same product number. Now, My PC won't post with all four* sticks plugged in. It posts when I use 2 with any combination (stick, slots). I tried a bunch of stuff already like increasing voltage (1.2 to 1.35), removing cmos battery and enabling DOCP, still won't post with 4 sticks. What should I do?

Mobo: Asus Ex-a320-gaming

CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g

Memory: Hyperx Fury 8Gb 2666

GPU: Gigabyte Rx 570

PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 550w

P.S. I also have one M.2 SSD, one SSD, and one HDD

I remember there possibly being a bios update to resolve this issue. Go to your motherboard's website
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/EX-A320M-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/
Download the bios

put it on a flash drive formatted for fat32

in bios use EZ Flash, select your drive, flash the bios. It takes about 5-10 minutes.

There will be multiple reboots, sometimes a period of the screen going black. Don't freak out. Give it time. See if that fixes your issues.

If issue still persists, install 2 sticks, let system boot. Install another stick. See if it posts. Some systems will powercycle multiple times to do RAM training before actually posting. Possible this is going on. If it works with 3 sticks, go to 4. I have had to do this recently with an intel machine. Took me 20 minutes to get it to work. After just letting the system powercycle a few times, it posted with 3 sticks. Went to 4, did the same thing and finally worked.

Another possibility is that the ram just simply isn't compatible with the processor. I had that happen recently at my job (computer repair tech).

Motherboards have a QVL for ram you can check out as well. If what I stated above doesn't work, you may have to swap ram. Check this list first before you do to maximize it working.

No, just get different ram. That is the best solution.

Apparently Dual rank ram may have issues on Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 2000. Though, if memory serves me, ram was a bit of a sticking point on the rhyzen second gen.

I was checking the QVL of other mobos (since I can't find my RAM product ID on ASUS QVL) and learned that my RAM sticks don't work in a 4 slot configuration (in all QVL I found).

This is a very valuable lesson for me. I should have bought a set or kit and checked compatibility first. I'll get new ones. Thank you Lord Xeb.

No problem man. Who dun thunk it, right? Apparently ram is not all created equal. It was a lesson that I learned recently after doing this for nearly 16 years XD

You can probably post your ram here on the forums and sell it after you get the new stuff. Won't get full retail, but you should be able to recover +70% of the cost. Either that, or post it on ebay. Put a price, haggle and sell it.
