How to sync a folder(s) between two computers via VPN in real-time.

Hi, as the title says I am trying to what I assume do something not typical as I can't really find any information about how to do this online that is accurate or not an advertisement for a piece of software. Simply put I wish to sync a folder between two computers running Windows 10 through a VPN. If anyone is savvy enough with this area of windows and VPNs and is willing to provide me with a tutorial or information it would be a great help!

Those of you who are familiar with the game ARK: Survival Evolved know unofficial servers are popular. However a downside to running unofficial servers is they require a decent amount of resources to keep things reasonably playable. Servers can be grouped together in what is called a "Cluster". What ties these servers together is a cluster folder where player data is held and transferred between servers. ARK does not natively support clusters between two machines or networks. This is where the need to sync a folder in real time via a VPN comes in. With the end goal of having a cluster that reaches beyond a single machine, therefore allowing more servers to be added to the "Cluster" and more servers for players to move between.

First time posting here, if I posted this in the wrong section or explained something poorly please forgive me. I am happy to elaborate more. Thanks in advance!

Are these domain joined machines? If so, you can do it with redirected folders through group policy. I have it set up to sync some games saves between multiple computers.

Can you specify the folder the game looks to? If so, putting it on a network share could work.

A quick google search would have me assume they would not be in a domain group. In my case each dedicated machine would be in different parts of a data center or in a different one entirely.

And I should be able to override where the game looks for cluster data.

VPNs aren’t really my area of expertise so I am struggling to figure out how to achieve this as described. If you have a good resource I could follow or information I would be grateful.
