Hey all,

My mom and dad live out in the mountains where a junk satellite internet provider is their only option.

Their ISP provides abhorrent speeds, and once you've downloaded a certain amount per month, they throttle you even further.

Streaming video is just not an option for them.

My dad works in town and has stable broadband at his office. So my thought for them was to use Netflix and Prime (since they offer downloads on their content.) And download content from his office network to a device, bring it home, plug and play.

I'm looking at devices like Roku and FireTVs and such... Are any of them capable of downloading content?

The Amazon Fire Stick has 8gb of storage on it, but I cant find any good info on whether or not it's going to do what we need it to.

My other thought was a Raspberry Pi, though my dad was not thrilled with the idea of a keyboard and mouse in his living room. Are there any pi programs that could run Netflix/prime video with downloads, and could be programmed to run with a remote?
