Can't decide on the hardware for my first gaming PC Build.

Hey everyone,

 

I have been watching LTT for a few months now, and I wanted to engage in the forum a little bit to see what's what.  Therefore, to start off my new found forum status, I would like to ask some questions about gaming computers.  I have been saving and saving up for a gaming computer with little to no compromise on the performance, however, after my money saving efforts I am now in a position where I have a choice to make.  As it stands right now, I am able to build a computer with decent specs, but my problem is that if I wait a little longer then I can get a computer with even better specs.  Now everybody has their own opinions on the kind of hardware they prefer, and they are entitled to those opinions, however, I am not looking for recommendations on specific hardware, I just want to ask one question; would rather build a computer with zero compromise and run the games you want to play at 4k at 120FPS or would you rather build a computer that can run 1440p at 120FPS on most Triple A titles?  

 

The reason I am asking this is because I have seen to many people build/buy a computer that they regret certain aspects about later, and my problem is that I don't want to be in a position where I regret or wish I would have waited later down the line.  I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to computer hardware, and I am looking to switch my primary gaming platform from console to PC for various reasons, therefore, I will be looking for hardware recommendations later on when I decide what I truly want to end up with at the end of the day.
