Hello, I'm fairly new to the forum, but have been watching LTT and all other channels for over a year now. I'm getting the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G (was on sale for $20/month for 24 months) to replace my iPhone 6s. I have a docking station at home that connects my monitor and peripherals to my work laptop. Would I be able to plug my phone into the docking station to charge and use the peripherals, or would there be potential harm due to the power of the docking station? I figured this would be the way of the future where for basic computing needs you can just plug your phone in and use desktop mode, but I'm worried about damaging the phone/battery.

Thanks for your help!

You work for Tierpoint?

I tried it with my Sony XA2, and no dice. You can use the mouse and keyboard connected to the dock, and charge off of it, but that's pretty neat tbh.

Probably won't damage the battery, but if you're scared don't risk it.

No, I work for an insurance company. Thanks for the response.

I have seen other docks that are smaller work online, but was worried since this has more power than those. I'll probably play it safe unless I can find out others have done it successfully. If I do end up testing it I'll be sure to post it.
