Keyboard mouse setup, will using the monitor usb ports interfere for gaming?

Hey,

At the moment I have my desktop connected to the monitor using DP, then a USB cable going from desktop into 15w labelled usb-c port on the monitor. Another usb-c/thuderbolt cable comes from 85w port on the monitor to connect to my work/personal laptop. Logitech K520 keyboard and M310 mouse uses the same wireless dongle that is connected to my montior.

Montior is samsung CJ791. If it is on thunderbolt source, the the kb and mouse control the laptop connected to that cable, if the source is displayport, then the kb and mouse can be used to control the desktop.

Is the same setup suggested for gaming, currently looking for a gaming keyboard and mouse, but havent been able to get into a shop to try them out.

Thanks

jim

I also use a thunderbolt dock for some of my gaming and its fine and feels exactly the same as being plugged directly.

Sure there are more actions to be done until the signal reaches the CPU, but I guess it will be 1-2ms max.

As long as you're not willing to win a CSgo or something like that championship you will be fine and not notice it.

I guess the wireless on your keys/mouse will have MUCH more delay :P
