So when I started my computer earlier it started to make a weird mechanical noise at the back of the case. I jump to see the rear fan making the commotion and that it seems to seen rather slower than usual. I first turn the computer off and on again and that fixed it. But, that's not good enough for me to just leave it. The PC is not, maybe good 2 years old.

I assume that its one of the following that caused this:

1. The computer was having trouble with starting a fan. This would mean incorrect electric current delivery, which points to a big problem with the motherboard. Btw my motherboard is Asus Prime x470-pro.

2. Or the fan for some reason just didn't start correctly. Although I don't see why it would spin slower and not pick back up.

You tell me if you know. Thanks for replies in advance.

Clean it, give some lubrications on the motor (wd40 should do). Fan motor is a simple electric, it should last forever if maintained properly.
