That will probably do just fine.

Thermal compound is just one small factor, there are other factors like clean heatsink and properly running fans.

Ive always used arctic ceramique 2 because i prefer the long term stability of it. Thermal paste doesnt need to be changed often, but ceramic stuff lasts for a decade+ before starting to dry.

The stuff is designed for high vibration environments, meant for PC's that are part of machinery or components in cars, i doubt a laptop would vibrate all to much but i guess it would be slightly more resistant to unsettling when bumped around or moved a lot.

alright then sounds pretty good, would that Artic 2 Ceramique 2 also be good for my PC or would the MX-4 be better in that case?

What exactly are you doing with the paste ? Is it just to replace the stuff between the cpu cooler and cpu ? Or are you looking to delid the cpu as well ?

Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut would be my suggestion for replacing the paste between cooler and cpu. There is also Noctua NT-H1/NT-H2.
