Hi, first off excuse me if its alot of typos etc. English isnt my first language. (Team Sweden anyone?) And were quite long ago i actually had to write in english. And sorry if i posted this in the wrong place.

My old pc feels like it could use an upgrade or two or maybe i should just buy a new one?

Current specs are:

CPU: i5 3570k @ 3,4ghz
Ram: 16gb ddr 3 @ 666mhz according to speccy (seems low?)
Moderkort: asrock z77 extreme 4
GPU: GTX 670
PSU: Cooler master at 700w (Dont remember its name)

Some old HDD and an SSD

Also an Noctua cooler, cant remember which model, The fans are black and was attached with some rubber bands that broke, now attached with some wire.

And its all inside a Fractal case which i dont now the model name for.

So the question is, is anything worth keeping for a new build? Or maybe just need to upgrade some parts? It became quite expensive fast when looking at a new build.

I use it mainly for gaming, currently Borderlands 3. Still runs it better than my laptop with a 960m and i7 inside. Or should i just give up and go back to console gaming? Seems alot cheaper right now tbh.

Any suggestions?

depending on your budget you will probably be better off just upgrading.

you will need a bunch of components to do this but overall you can save like 200-300€ that would otherwise be spend on the case, SSD´s and the PSU.

how much budget do you have and what games do you usually play?

Your ram is DDR-3 1333Mhz, so it's not "low". That's just how it is with RAM. Double that 666 and you get 1333, double data rate. DDR

IMO, maybe pick up a used GPU, like an AMD 580 8GB or 570 or something in that range if you want to delay a whole new PC purchase by like two more years. CPU is still "good enough" and RAM is plenty also.

Obviously a new system would be way better, but it all depends on your current budget.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 11 Pro

Budget is up for debate (with myself). The grown up part of me says i should buy as little as possible, but on the other hand it would be nice with a good pc so i dont have to check every games min req before purchase.

If i would buy a new pc im guessing it would be around $600-1000

Right now i play Borderlands 3.
