Can you paint over a scratch?

My black laptop has some decoloring on the edge of its back, where you can see shiny silver instead.

Is it possible to purchase some paint and just paint over it, or am I fucked?

It's a Razer Blade for reference.

Would a vinyl laptop skin cover it? I've used a lot of those on older Dell Latitudes I sold off in perfect working order but with scratches on the top cover.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

just use a tiny black marker and use that to paint it over, but it still will be noticeable.

IIRC the Razer Blades are made from anodized aluminum so getting paint to match is going to be a real challenge and might actually make it look worse IMO. I'd use a Sharpie to darken the exposed aluminum and make the scratch less noticeable. Mark over the scratch with the Sharpie and then use some alcohol and a paper towel to clean off the excess ink that's not in the scratch.

Since the razer blade is aluminum and it's anodized, painting it will not match very well unless you go over the whole laptop. You would be better off just getting a paint marker and touching up the areas that have gotten scratched than doing a whole paint job.
