Have always found this: https://tft.vanity.dk/ useful to check a monitor is ok, or to set multiple monitors up so they match.

Various ways to run it, but flash is probably easiest in a browser.

You need to mouse up to the top of the window to go through the various screens and the overlay window tells you what to look out for.

I think trying some other content would let you see what's happening better.

Looks like you're playing the video in vlc too, so presumable it's a youtube rip? In any case without checking other content you can't be sure it's not an encoding issue.

You can download some files for testing here: https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples

Screen tearing is normal when V-sync is off.

Can't see any problems on the screenshots. Maybe you see something on your monitor differently. So maybe it is actually a monitor issue. You might want to take a photo of the screen instead of screenshot.

What's this useful for?

Not likely, though i still can't see the some symptoms you described.

Starting to doubt my opinion. There might be more tech-savvy people in the forum...

Is there a circular "rainbow" as on the last image visible or is that just an artifacting when taking a photo, I can't tell. But if you are on the default resolution and there are strange colors or something elkse you should contact the place you bought it from, in my opinion
