Weird unnecessary 2 modem 1 phone question.

Alrit, so to start with the problem/question, my one and only internet i use comes from my mobile phone, no problems with enything so far, 24€/month unlimited EVERYTHING, including down, up speed and bandwith, so, there's a few down sides, A) No port forwarding. B) No 5ghz wireless. My question is, as i have accuired an old mobile/sim card modem(usually 100+€), im wondering if i can just buy a cheap basic modem/router, pass through the internet through the mobile modem with my phones usb tethering to the 5ghz capable modem, and go ahead with my main reason for all this trouble, oculus quest to and from pc streaming.

 

Short version: Phone internet-> supported modem-> better modem-> 1 network for 3pc's and a oculus quest, possible?

 

What are the steps to do so, thanks in advance.

Alrit, got the phone and usb port modem set up, seems like the modem i got for free is currently equipped with 802.11n router, is it supposed to be able to run 5ghz out of box or can it be disabled by the manufacturer.

Wireless N doesn’t mean 5Ghz. Some N routers are 2.4 GHz only. Some are selectable dual band were you have to pick between which band you want to use. Some did both 2.4 GHz and 5Ghz at the same time.
