Recording gameplay in MacBook Pro 13

I have a MacBook Pro 13" 2017, which I hook up to a 25" LG Ultrawide monitor, 2560x1080. I would like to record gameplay footage using OBS but whenever I do I get a lot of and stuttering in even older and non demanding titles with low settings. Games like Diablo 3, Dota 2, LoL, Insurgency, Left 4 Dead.

What settings should I use to get a decent enough quality without ruining the experience of the gameplay.
