I bought a new RTX 2060 from Gigabyte from Amazon but Windows 10 is detecting it as a GTX 1660. I wasn't too worried about that since to my knowledge Windows graphics card model detection isn't very good and the sticker on the graphics says GV-N2060OC-6GD. But then I ran the benchmark on userbenchmark.com and besides the name, the performance of my card is similar to the GTX 1660.

How can I be sure I have the right graphics card? The GV-N2060OC-6GD looks so similar to the GV-N1660OC-6GD that I was thinking someone could order both from Amazon, switch the exterior part of the cards and then return the RTX 2060. Basically getting an RTX 2060 for the price of a GTX 1660.

This is the results that I'm getting:

https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/20460695

I also tried to compare my fps in games but it's much harder to compare since there are a lot more variables.

But does GPU-Z actually detect the GPU or does it just use the name of the graphics card to deduce all the other information?

Does anyone know any other free benchmarks that I can use to compare my card with others?

GPU-Z has the ability to detect a faked card also; so I think it is actually reading the GPU type.

I am not sure about other tools to check.

Just now, Origami Cactus said:

I would send it back to amazon.

The card was "sold and shipped by amazon" right?

Yes. I will probably return it then. I just tested it with Novabench and it has a performance similar to that of a GTX 1660.

Is it possible that all RTX 2060 are detected as GTX 1660 and so my card is being compared with RTX 2060s in this benchmark tools?

Yes, return it. Listing it as a 2060 was a compete scam.
