Hello everyone.

As the title says. I currently have a i5 6500 system without any GPU. Recently moved to japan and brought only my cpu, motherboard, rams, ssd with me.

I am running a Benq 24inch 75hz display right now. Model - GL2460.

I have budget of around 68000 yen to spend now. Was looking into RTX 2070 super or a display like acer XB271hubmiprz or gigabtye AD27QD. Which is just around my budget.

Now as i can buy either display or gpu so which one should i go for? Whatever i buy now next purchase will be after around 5 months.

Also for diplay, is 2070 Super weak for smooth gameplay at 1440p? Or should i get a 1080p 144hz? Picture quality is also somewhat important for me apart from smoothness. And I want the system to last atleast 3-4 years.

Please discuss. Thanks.

I would recommend tackling the GPU first, as at the moment, that would likely provide the most perceivable improvement, unless you are performing productivity tasks or content creation that requires a better monitor. Also the RTX 2070 should perform fine in most games at 1440p and decent to high settings for at least 2 to 4 years although what we may consider as decent may change rapidly as raytracing and pathtracing technologies improve, in the end I can only say that the RTX 2070 at this point will probably remain smooth in most AAA games at high setting for at least 2 years and mid for 4 at 1440p. What resolution and refresh rate you should pick really depends on what games you play, and a decent amount on what you want out of a display, if you mostly play FPS games like COD or CSGO, or Battle Royal games like Fortnite, and Apex Legends, then you should probably aim for 1080p 144 to 240 hz displays, otherwise I would recommend aiming for the 1440p as it simply just looks better, and you would likely get more performance for your money as your system would no longer be CPU bound in most games.

Appreciate the input.

Games i mainly play are like tomb raider, monster hunter things like that. Genre is action adventure.

I don't do content creation. But nearly all my content consumption is on pc.

Will the acer  XB271hubmiprz be better than the gigabyte AD27QD?

In that case I would recommend the Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD, although I recommend getting a GPU first.

Yeah i will just get the GPU first. I can not even drive the monitor at full fps with built  in graphics, as my motherboard only have hdmi.

Just found out about LG 27GL850-B. Also saw it on amazon.jp. Gigabyte AD27QD and LG 27GL850-B uses same panel no?
