This sounds like a component issue inside the computer itself. Regardless of whether this a new or previously built system, try the following, in the following order:

  • Reseat the HDMI connectors.
  • Consult the user's manual for your graphics card to make sure that you're using the primary connector. It's not necessarily the top or bottom connector!
  • Consult the user's manual for your display to make sure that you're using the right input connector! Your monitor should autodetect the input, but some displays don't.
  • Reseat the RAM.
  • Consult the user's manual for your motherboard to make sure that you're installing your RAM into the right slots! (There's no shame in doing that, the best of us do it.)
  • Reseat all of the power supply cabling in their respective receptacles (you'll have to push fairly hard and maybe wiggle to get some plugs in, especially the 20+4 pin ATX connector)
  • Reseat the CPU in its socket

If none of this works, post back here, along with any additional troubleshooting steps that you might've taken.

Ive tried reseating the cpu, its in fine. As for the ram its in properly but the lights dont come on, the GPU in the right slot and all the cables are plugged in properly

Based on your images, you didn't follow all of the steps, particularly the correct RAM slots! The reason I put CPU last is because it was least likely to have caused issues (it CAN cause issues if the mount is every-so-slightly off center because of a tolerance slip in manufacturing, but this is incredibly rare).

In the very manual for your motherboard, section 1.1.4, page 1-5, the memory configuration should be in slot DIMM_A2 for single-channel operation, but you have it in DIMM_B1, as shown in your pictures. If you were running dual channel (as indicated in your original post), you should be using slots DIMM_A2 and DIMM_B2.

Additionally, if you have any test-able DDR4 modules that fall on Asus's QVL, you might want to try that as well, since your RAM SKU isn't explicitly supported (it should work, but it might not work).

Reading the documentations isn't a sign of weakness, and it can help you diagnose issues more quickly if you try the elementary steps indicated in the manual, including following manufacturer recommendations, as they do know the product the best! The QVLs are here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B360-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/, and the docs are here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B360-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_Manual/.

What do you mean by 'standby light'? does it come on when the computer's plugged in, or only after powering it up? Does the fan turn and all?

The fans and lights turn on. It comes on when the pc is plugged in and even when its turned on

Do reseat your RAM if you haven't tried already. I've had the issue of my screen not getting signal even when the fans turn and all, which turned out to be a RAM seating issue. Pull it out and insert it in again.
