Hello to everyone! Trying to finalize my build, hoping you can help!

Before, I was trying to decide between the Crucial 500GB MX500 and the Samsung 500GB 860 EVO. I was leaning more towards the Crucial because it costs less, with the only downside being the lesser TBW warranty which isn't that important anyway. However an ssd has appeared recently, the Kingston 500GB A2000, and it costs less and is an NVMe ssd so it has 4 times the read and write speeds. While I do understand that chances are very high that I will never actually make use of speeds that high, having the option is kinda nice. Does anyone know more about this ssd? It seems like way too sweet a deal.

Thank you to all who took the time to read this thread, and more so to all who also replied!

If you're wanting cheap, reliable NVME storage and are in the US check out Inland brand stuff. It's MicroCenter's in-house brand and they are a killer deal. I've been running one if their 1tb NVME drives for a year or more and haven't had a single issue.

Their 512gb NVME drive is the same price as the Kingston A2000 you're looking at but with 3,100MB/s (A2000 is 2,000MB/s)

I'm not from the US so unfortunately that drive you recommended isn't available here.

Even the worst NVME is going to be worth it over SATA in most workloads if the prices are similar.

That being said, the Silicon Power P34A80 is looking mighty tempting. It's TLC, has a DRAM cache, and comes out cheaper than even the dirt cheap 660p. It will blow any of the SSDs you listed out of the water in any workload I can think of. Warranty is pretty good at 5 years too.

If you're shopping in Capitalist Freedomdollars, at time of writing Amazon.com has the 512GB P34A80 for $59.99, 500GB MX500 for $64.93, and the 860 QVO for an absurd $95.99. I couldn't find a price for the K2000, but it'll be half the speed of the P34A80 at the best of times, so I wouldn't get it unless it was substantially cheaper.
