Planning on getting a i7-9700k for my pc build, was wondering what graphics card and motherboard y’all would pair with it. Total budget is $1700 in the United States, thanks everyone !

What are you going to use this rig for? Adobe related editing? If not 3700X is a much better buy because of Hyper-threading. Do you need any peripherals or monitor?

For motherboard, I'm not sure how specific you want to go, but generally I'd get something that lets you overclock and has respectable features and quality without breaking the bank.  Spending a ton more for a fancy board doesn't really get you anything, but you don't want to scrape the bottom of the barrel either, especially with a K chip.  For GPU, get the best one that fits in the budget I guess.  Probably a 5700 XT because that's decently powerful and a better value than RTX, but make sure you don't get a reference one, ever.

If we can dig deeper though, if you're doing even slightly more than gaming, you'd be better served by an AMD CPU (and motherboard of course).  The platform is more advanced and has a future, and the CPU is more power for the money.

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
