EKWB Pump Speed for 24/7 Recommendations

Revo D5 PWM pump here but my hours are not quite 24/7, maybe 18/7 - I run mine at 60% but I used to run it at 50% (albeit, I benchmark using 100%). The reason I changed was because I added a Phanteks distribution plate recently that changed my loop configuration and puts my CPU (9900k) in parallel with my video cards (2 x 1080TI's) that are also in parallel. My thinking is basically to push more fluid through the blocks as I've reducing the throughput to my blocks by running in parallel (nothing scientific just a gut feel). So far, so good - the temperatures actually appear to have dropped a degree or two but that might be due to ambient temperature and a new application of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on the CPU (I rotated the water block for easier routing to the distro plate).

My D5 is a Vario version, has a dial at the bottom for speed, doesnt use a header. 5/5 is max speed.

Why not just use %? So much easier. I decided to run it at 50% speed 24/7 as according to other forums.

I stuck them to 50% as well. Pump goes straight into the GPUs so I suppose 50% is perfect.

I stuck them to 50% as well. Pump goes straight into the GPUs so I suppose 50% is perfect.

those pumps are rated for 100% operation 24/7. they are cooled by the liquid flowing through them, so you can literally run them at 100% for years.

which is actually what @SolarNova was saying.

 

just put them to a RPM that gives good flow through your blocks, and let them run. they will run just fine whatever the speed.
