Im not familiar with the features in the segment of graphics cards. is there a 1660 ti that is better than the others (features, ports, reliability)? I decided on getting a 1660 ti for nvenc encoding for my main rig alongside my rtx 2080, my only requirement is that it is a 2 slot card for fitment purposes; also later down the line i might put it in my itx pc.

Right now im looking at getting the EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti SC Ultra Gaming 2 slot because well: EVGA. the only downside is that it only has 1 display port and hdmi port. If i were to put it in my itx productivity pc later down the line, the displays i could hook up to it would be limited.

Is there a better 2 slot 1660ti that you would recommend?

Here is where I would keep my frolics if I had any.

Or just buy a 1660 and overclock the crap out of it until it reaches a 1660 Ti in performance like i did :D

I would rather go with the 1660ti  for the better memory bandwidth. I'm still going to overclock it too.

do you have 2 or 3 fans on your gigabyte card?

So why do you need a 2nd GPU?

Get one with a high power limit and good cooling. for the most part graphics cards perform about the same from vendor to vendor. A high power limit will let you overclock your card further and along with that you'll want good cooling to keep it in check.

I have the 3 fans version,67c max at 30c ambient with my overclock, very quiet too,no suprise considering they slapped one of their 2080 Ti cooler designs on those cards.

dedicated Nvenc encoding

In that case a 2060s or 2070

thats why im looking at the EVGA card. It offers an extra 10 watts of headroom over the others But I'm worried about the lack of extra display ports, i would likely put it in my itx productivity pc later down the line.

There is no need for that. For my use case a 1660 ti will be more than enough. the 1660 would be ok but i want the extra raw bandwidth.

I misread. If it’s purely for nvenc then yes 1660Ti will be fine.

Right but which should i get?!

Considering the Gigabyte 3 fan model is cooler, and has 3 DisplayPort ports i would choose that one.
