Is there a safe (software) way to make a hard drive click more?

dont make your hdd click more, play server sounds on speaker if you want your pc to sound like a server.

Ah, I see you're looking to recreate the floppotron

PSA: This is not something you should do with your current hardware, especially not when there is important data on it

Clicking is NOT good for your HDD. Play something on your speakers or something. You posted like 4 other threads in the last hour or so. Why are you actually trying to make your pc sound so much? And chill a bit with the threads, or just combine everything into one later on.

clicking is completely normal in hard drives at least from the stuff ive read

To an extent, yes. The clicking sound one can hear from HDDs is usually the drive-head parking itself. Alas, you don't want it parking itself all the time, because it can wear things out and damage the drive -- I have a Seagate 2TB HDD that has a way over-zealous power-management, which causes the head to park itself every couple of seconds; there are a shitton of complaints about this HDD because the constant parking and unparking causes a lot of bad sectors rather quickly. My drive lasted only a couple of months before I started getting a fuckton of bad sectors.

This is to say: sure, you can do it, if you like, but you should then use a drive you don't care about to do it.
