@midninBR Load up something like CPU-Z or GPU-Z and see what it says there.  Example from my system showing the expected memory size.

It shows 8 GB correctly, can you try to load OCCT?

It's a Windows 10 problem, reserving some % amount of vram of every gpu.

For instance my streaming pc has a 1660Ti and OCCT only shows 5GB instead of 6. But Geforce Experience and CPU-Z show 6GB.

If it’s shown correctly where it needs to be, why does a crappy program matter?

Whats the goal exactly?

Windows won’t be taking away the total. It’s clearly the stuff you are using.

All of my games that have the ability to show it, read correctly. If Windows takes anything it will be shown in the task manager. You can click on the card and see how much is used and shared.

Theres a reason for it if it happens.

Nope never used it. No idea what it is. But if it’s like any other outdated program it won’t read right. Have you ever used an old unigine benchmark? Same thing.

Gears 5 is fresh new, so as OCCT, it's a well kown benchmarking tool.

Just open it and post what it shows. If it shows 8GB we can try some steps to solve my problem, otherwise it might be a known problem

Can try it when I get home but regardless what it shows, my system is working as it should. My game shows 8 available as does windows.

Ok so its not a driver problem, Did you run in safemode?

You must have an app eating that vram,

You can try another pci slot dont think it will solve it, but no harm if you try.

It seems it's a Win10 WDDM 2 issue (or feature), since first w10 release (Windows Display Driver Model)

There's no workaround and people complain about it since 2015

So there isn’t an issue. Windows sees it just fine, like the screen shot shows.

Also just ran its gpu mem test it offers. The program is junk and doesn't read right.

Besides the new version of OCCT being hot garbage, mine is reading the same incorrect number.  Here's OCCT compared to HWInfo64.

Yep, ignore OCCT (never heard of it till now) and move on. Why is the OP so obsessed with this crap program anyway, and why does he choose to believe it over GPUZ or HWInfo64?

It's not about this program, it's about availability of our GPU VRAM, my card didn't lose 1.3 GB of VRAM but it's not available for any third software but Windows. Some games have shown me stats of 6.7 instead of 8 GB of VRAM available when I turn on in-game stats.

It should raise some concerns. OCCT is one of them only, easy to download and you can see by yourself this issue exists.

Windows 10 made this an issue since WDDM 2, maybe it's not a issue for most of us but 1.3 GB is a lot to take for whatever Windows resource...

But it isn’t being taken away by anything. Don’t see why you keep blaming windows on that crap program.

OCCT is just an example and easy to reproduce so you guys can see the problem. It's better to download it then Gears 5.

I like to play games and whenever they have stats of your VRAM it shows 6.7 and not 8 GB. That's the usable VRAM for them, not the total amount.

Do you think it's correct?
