I just bought a new GPU a Vega 56 and am upgrading from a 580 and the Vega 56 needs 2 8 pin connectors and i only have 1 free one. My PSU has enough total power i think for the new GPU but not enough connectors. could i split the single 8 pin i have and would that be sufficient for a Vega 56 or could i split the 8 pin connected to my motherboard and plug the split one from the motherboard and the single free 8 pin or would that make everything explode and die i know i should just buy a better PSU but im broke and cant return the GPU and would like to use it.

You can't use the motherboard one, does the Vega 56 run with a single 8 pin? try that.

Go into MSI afterburner, I'd undervolt, underclock, and lower the power target to something like 175W.

I would still trash that PSU. There is no rating for continuous load. It could go off at any moment and take out an entire system.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

You're showing us pictures of the 8-pin for the motherboard.  I thought that PSU had 6+2-pin PCIe power connectors too.  Does it not have any?  Or it only has one?

I think maybe the 500W version only had one PCIe, so maybe you do need a new PSU.  Definitely DO NOT use adapters.  That never ends well long term.

Also, before you installed that graphics card, you should have blown all of that CRAP out of your PC, CPU cooler, case fans, etc.  That looks disgraceful.

If your psu doesn't have the required connectors it is not up to the task.

Get a new psu.

It's a CWT GPT Series, it's not that bad.  But I can't remember if they had one PCIe or two.  If it has two, they're both on the same cable.

It has 2 connectors one in motherboard other for gpu my 580 only needed one and this is a cyberpowerpc prebuilt so it was designed not to be upgraded but my new vega 56 needs 2 8 pin.

Also i know the dust is disgraceful as hell but im always broke i can't afford canned air duster stuff always. hell i bought this 700 dollar prebuilt used for about 150 from someone who i know is a thief and wanted to just get rid of it quickly idk where he got it and frankly i dont care where he got it it's mine now, ive had it for a year so if the original owner is looking for it it's fair to say their never getting it back.. so yeah i can't exactly afford new parts when i need them and clean it every month like i want to.

shit i can't even buy pc games ive only ever bought 1 game for my pc's in 5 years and it was battlefield 5 origin account i got for 10 dollars. i just wanted to see if there was a way to just buy a cheap adapter instead of a new psu because if i get one i dont want to risk getting some raidmax piece of shit and i can't afford one anytime soon.

The 8-pin on the motherboard is different then the 8-pin that goes into the graphics card.

When I said I thought it had two PCIe connectors, I'm ONLY talking about the PCIe connectors.  The one that plugs into the motherboard is not a PCIe connector.

If it doesn't have two PCIe connectors, you need a new PSU.

where can i get a cheap PSU that isn't a Raidmax Allah Akbar edition preferably fully modular i need i think about 600w

Best-value (better to have value than a cheap PSU) I would go for in your situation to run your Vega would be this Corsair CX for about $65: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FdRFf7/corsair-cx-2017-550w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-cp-9020121-na

Since you mentioned fully modular here's a modular RMx but you do pay more for that (about $86): https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2HbwrH/corsair-rmx-2018-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020178-na
