So I've posted about some issues I've been having with my cpu temps spiking and it's starting to seem like I may need to at the very least upgrade some parts since I can't afford a whole new build right now. With that said here are my current specs and what I figured I could upgrade to.

Specs:

Intel i7 6700K

Corsair H100i GTX

Asus z170-A

GTX 970

Gskill Ripjaws V series 16Gb 3200 (2x8)

Corsair RM650 Gold modular

Samsung 750 EVO SSD

1TB Seagate HDD

NZXT Phantom 530 Case

3440x1440 Ultrawide LG Monitor

Upgrade:

MSI B450 Tomahawk MOBO

Ryzen 3700x

Noctua D15 Cooler

Possibly Samsung 970 M.2

Would those upgrades be okay with the rest of my stuff? Also, would I probably be bottlenecking the system with the gtx 970? Any better suggestions?

Help Appreciated !

What's your budget/country for the upgrades? B550 motherboards are coming pretty soon.

Are you sure your AIO is still working correctly? Is your PC clean and dust free? Especially the radiator fins and mesh?

Also take off the side panel of your case and check for tempature difference, your current case doesn't have any airflow as far as I can tell.

Your CPU is still fine for gaming, once you sort out the cooling issue you'd be better off upgrading your GPU to an RX 5700/Xt for the ultra wide display.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Yeah I've done everything to address the issue.

Here's the link for the troubleshooting post on my cpu

Oddly enough gpu never goes above 50 degrees. It has a corsair aio attached as well.

Your CPU is maybe being blasted with voltage which would cause temperature spikes.

Try updating your motherboard's bios and making sure that's all at default

If nothing else then ya grab an R5 3600, but I'd just go for an X570 ASUS Prime board. And the Ryzen stock cooler would be fine for a while.

yeah like i said, I've done everything. Made sure bios is updated to latest version. checked voltage and changed it a few times but still nothing. restored to default as well.

Might be a faulty mobo? cant be psu right? otherwise I would have to replace that as well.

But fan is running well on psu so it seems to be okay...

Then maybe just get Ryzen, and start the warranty process for your current motherboard for what I assume will be it's resale.

Have you all reinstalled windows?

You can get an AM4 bracket for your cooler unless you just want to replace it anyways.

Yup, reinstalled windows twice and even reverted to previous build just in case.
would I even be able to do anything warranty related considering I bought the mobo in 2016?
If I could get it working again I would just give it to my parents since their 10 year old pc just died out as well lol.

The warranty on that board is 3 years, so it might still have support
