I'm looking for VR set up I only really play and make VR content at the moment and would like to know where my money would be best spent at this price point I'm working with a gtx 970 with my vive and I'm feeling I'm riding the edge with it with new content. I'm running a rysen 1600x set up with with 16 GB of ram.

I would like to buy from amazon new/warehouse. But I'm alright with the used hardware market as well.

Green or red team doesn't matter to me.

I'm think of getting an RX 580 or gtx 1070 at the moment. Gtx 1660 looks good but I don't think it's worth it.

I think I need a minimum of 6 GB of on board memory as well.

Some links to look at:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KX66Mp/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2060-6-gb-oc-video-card-gv-n2060oc-6gd ($329 RXT 2060 New)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/XFX-Radeon-RX-VEGA-64-8G-Graphics-Card/202782908594?hash=item2f36cda0b2:g:xBgAAOSwetBdhE4E ($260 Used blower Vega 64)

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XRqhP6/gigabyte-radeon-rx-vega-56-8gb-video-card-gv-rxvega56gaming-oc-8gd ($319 Vega 56 New)

I'll condense this paragraph long ebay link ($269 Used 1070Ti with a great cooler model!)

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RGyV3C/msi-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-6-gb-ventus-xs-video-card-gtx-1660-ti-ventus-xs-6g-oc ($269 1660 Ti New)

I agree that if you could front a little more, an RX 5700 would be the best option. You're looking at $360 for a non-blower cooler, though.

With the data above, I disagree with the 1660 Ti as the choice.

I would skip the Vega 56, I'd skip the 1660Ti, and it would be between the Vega 64, the RTX 2060 and the GTX 1070 Ti for me. (And I'd probably go with the new 2060 for $329, myself.)
