I knew that when optane launched it only supported one drive at a time. But according to their site, newer versions of the software allow a selected drive to be accelerated, meaning you can have multiple drives. Did I understand this right?

This is a game changer, now I can have an ssd for boot and still have a large hdd with optane so my games are fast as well.

From what I recall a feature was added that Optane can speed up a disk other than the OS disk, but it was still limited to doing one disk.

Intel has canceled their upcoming M15 and 815P Optane products:

I would move away from this platform entirely as I have little faith in its continued support.

I was a huge Optane supporter but this is a dead project as of now.

The 16gb optane is the only reasonably priced module, after that it's better to get more ram instead.

Pairing a cheap 2TB SATA SSD with a 58GB 800P is cheaper than a 2TB 970 and has vastly superior 4KQ1T1 performance.

None of that matters now though. Since Intel has abandoned this project I do not expect Intel to put much effort into supporting the existing products.
