Hi, everyone. First time here. So I'm trying to upgrade a old machine right now, but I don't have much budget for this upgrade. The machine mainly uses for gaming. I want to know which parts should I go first.

What games do you want to run? What resolution?

in your case I’d think GPU be the cheapest upgrade as going with a new cpu you’d need new board, ram too.

MSI B450 Pro Gaming Pro Carbon AC | AMD Ryzen 2700x  | NZXT  Kraken X52  MSI GeForce RTX2070 Armour | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4*8) 3200MhZ | Samsung 970 evo M.2nvme 500GB Boot  / Samsung 860 evo 500GB SSD | Corsair RM550X (2018) | Fractal Design Meshify C white | Logitech G pro WirelessGigabyte Aurus AD27QD

for mainly gaming I see no reason to upgrade rams, but yeah GPU upgrade is beneficial.

I would upgrade your GPU. What resolutions are you looking for? Maybe a gtx 980 or Vega 56?

Isn’t the 4470k still DDR3? If not, disregard my comment.

It is, but still I would argue that getting a watercooling setup or a water cooler for CPU (and overclocking it) would yield better performance per buck.

He’s asking for upgrades so besides upgrading the GPU, he would need a complete upgrade going to 8/9th gen intel or going the amd route if he went for cpu upgrade.

I mean im still waiting on answer what games / resolution he wants to achieve as depending on that the advice would change

edit; don’t know too much about watercooling besides aio’s so it may well be that your options is better,  but wouldn’t a custom loop also cost quite some dosh?

On 1080p and mostly I'll just play any new game that seems fun.

as in a 5700XT that isn't using the shitty AMD reference cooler design.

It's not the best AIB 5700XT, is the thicc or pulse available?

Thicc is available, but too expensive, so this one might be the best option for me.

I'd get the gigabyte gaming oc since it's a bit cheaper then.
