Before upgrading to Xperia 1, I was using the Android 10 beta 3 on a Pixel 2, even though I criticized the new navigation gesture in some other platforms as "copied from Apple", deep inside I still love the non-lineral animation and that gesture bar. But after turned to Xperia 1 I wasn't really satisfied about the overall software experience, but I think the tall screen alongside with the new navigation bar in Android 10 will improve a lot of Xperia 1's "user experience".

So generally when will sony devices gets the latest Android version update?

Well because they basically rebooted the xperia line-up there's no real data to base a guess on.

With the fact android 10 is still very new and Sony likes to give it their own personal touch I doubt we will see it very soon.

Maybe this year but I dunno.

Soon I suppose...

I still dont know what Sony was thinking when they decided to put a 4k screen on a 3300mAh phone.

I haven't used a Sony phone recently. Never liked their candy bar design.

oh, the battery life is not garbage at all, Xperia 1 is actually the phone with the best battery life I've ever used in my hands, easily get me through my day with hours of bluetooth music and occasionally camera shots. The fact is that Xperia 1's screen is NOT all time 4K, in general usage the screen is somewhere around a "1080+", that helps a lot with battery life since a 4K Lawnchair doesn't improve the phone experience anyway.

BTW, i think Xperia 1 combines the boxy shape and the hand feeling quite well, not as aggressive as XZP or XZ1
