Which monitor

My pc specs are: Ryzen 7 1700, 16gb 3000hmz ram, rx 580 8gb (looking to upgrade gpu within the next year)

My monitor broke about a month or two ago and since then  i have been playing on a 60hz 43" 1080p tv which isnt exactly great to play games on. But i now have the problem of do i buy a 75hz 27" 1080p monitor or a 144hz 23.6" 1080p monitor? was looking to go 1440p at some point but i dont currently have the money. So which do i get? and any recommendations are welcome (i live in England so would have to be in GBP)
