Game Stutter/Frame Drops

Hi, I've recently built a brand new gaming pc and it has worked flawless for months until recently and i cannot figure out why. It has been causing lag and frame drops recently while in game such as rainbow six siege and the new  call of Duty Modern Warfare Beta. While playing my FPS would randomly drop from around 170-ish fps to 30 and my screen would freeze for a split second sometimes longer. My CPU is an Intel 9th Gen i5 9600k and GPU is RTX 2070 black edition from EVGA. Paired with ASUS Prime-A z390 MOBO and 16 GB of corsair RGB Pro RAM at 3200.
