Can cpu overheating cause sudden unwanted restarts?

My PC specs:

Processor: Intel i3 6100

Cpu Cooler: Cooler Master Tx3 evo

Ram: corsair Vengeance 8 gigs 2400mhz

Gpu: Sapphire R7 360 OC

Psu: Corsair VS550

Built this as a budget gaming PC and so far it worked out for me. And it was some time in the middle of 2016.

Its old now but didn't think this would happen. It keeps restarting every now and then while there's some load

on the Processor. The temperature is also not that high while gaming but most of the times it restarts while I'm

in a game. I usually play Fortnite or World of Warships.

The titles says if it restarts because of the Heat but I logged my records of heat and load on core with cpu temp

and last of the readings say my cpu load was 100%

At this point I am not even sure whats happening. I just want to fix this stupid problem. And I am pretty sure my cpu

cooler is very much and alright and also psu is running perfectly fine cause I have changed thermal paste and swapped

psu with a lower powered one and still same thing.

PLEASE!!! if someone could help me I'd be very very grateful.

**ps: I have attached the last logged file. Please check for details.

Replace your thermal pate and see if it resolves the issue.

Definitely not an issue with CPU temps. You can monitor your GPU temps while gaming but I'm leaning towards the PSU being the issue. The VS Series are the lowest end PSU's that Corsair makes and many users on the forums recommend against using them in any scenario. I personally use one in my server as the workload is very light (average of 50 watts, peak at 90) but I wouldn't install a dedicated GPU with one. Honestly you could pick any power supply from Corsair that's not a VS series and be fine. The CX series is very popular in budget builds. They're a great value and significnatly higher quality than the VS series. If you plan on getting a beefier GPU in the future (RX 580, 5700XT, RTX 2070, etc) I would recommend a Corsair RMx PSU.

Already changed the Thermal Paste and therefore cpu temps are normal. Other then that I got an RX590 from a friend to test and I ran Heaven Unigine. Pc rebooted while loading. I guess its the PSU.

And since I am broke AF. Still I gotta go for a budget PSU. So I was thinking of getting a thermaltake tr2 600w 80+ bronze psu. The OEM is ShenZhen UTPower Technology. I dont know anything about what sort of psu they make and is it any good.

Just save up your money until you can afford something better. A Corsair CX450M is like $50
