Im building a gaming/architecture computer and not sure about storage

this is my build

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/what123/saved/Vs6mgs

This will be use for a lot of gaming. I want something that would have space for multiple games (i like to have some strategy game installed all the time on top of a AAA game) and not sure what to get.

And maybe something for backup or archiving.

SSD? HDD? SSHD?

Is SSHD worth it?

or go with a 256mb (i heard cashe size doesnt matter) HDD or a SSD

I have a 1080 that im keeping for a little longer

Go with either NVME drive or SATA SSD in the capacity and price you need and can afford. In this day an age almost no one should be using HDD for anything other than cold storage/ Backups.

Grab an SSD. If you're working with large files then an NVMe Sabrent Rocket might be worth it. I'd the files are average size even a SATA drive is more than enough. WD Blue, Crucial MX500 or 860 EVO.

Also, that power supply is overkill. An RMx 550W is enough

My go to is a crucial P1. I paid like 120 bucks for a 1TB NVMe. Thinking about getting a second one.

EDIT: There is also the crucial mx500 but that isnt an NVMe. Just a regular M.2 ssd

I also heard that if a ssd goes theres a chase that the data is lost

Doesnt matter if SSD or HDD, you should always make one or two backups on different drives with your important data.

Drives can and will fail, so dont take chances and make backups

There is always a risk of data loss doesn't matter the drive type, should always have your data backed using another solution (cloud storage, external drive, ect.)

SSHD are not worth it, HDD is only worth it if you want the extra space next to your SSD.

Get an SSD. In my opinion, the Samsung 860 Evo (M.2 or not), Crucial MX500 (M.2 or not), Intel 660p (if you don't fill it completely and can deal with the lower TBW) or Crucial P1 (same as with the 660p) are the best options.

If a drive fails, the data is gone. Which is why you make backups of your data.

An SSD typically fails in a more predictable way. An HDD fails kind of randomly, an SSD after writing a certain amount of data to it.
