Hey guys, 

Can you suggest a correct RAM for  Intel Core i5 8400 2.8Ghz 9MB Cache s1151v2 and  Asus PRIME B365M-A LGA1151v2, Intel B365, DDR4

 

I was about to get  HyperX FURY Black 2x8GB DDR4 2400MHz CL15 Kit

But something tells me, I need to ask you guys first.

PS. Explain why, is there a difference.  This is not a gaming PC.

PSU - Corsair HX1000 , Display -  ASUS TUF Gaming VG27A 165HZ + Dell 24 UltraSharp Monitor , Cooling - Noctua NH-D15 Black , 

Keyboard - Razer Stalker , Mouse - Logitec G502 Wireless , Operating System - Win 10 Pro , 

Sound - Logitech Z906 5.1 THX Surround Sound Speaker System

I would suggest going with DDR4-2666, as that is the top speed the CPU supports and will allow you to get max performance with near no risk; truth be told 2400 and 2666 will make no near difference in day to day usage.

 

Me personally when I order RAM I buy singles and not kits because it makes returns for DOA stuff easier. And Amazon.ca's pricing is so messed up it is sometimes cheaper that way.

 

Overall I see no glaring issue with the selection you made.
