Graphics card drawing more power than should

so if the limit is set to 100% in afterburner the card will go over that regardless?

Generally you'll have priority set for either the temperature limit or the power limit. I'm fairly certain it'll exceed whichever limit isn't priority as long as the one that is priority hasn't been reached. (So if temperatures are set to the priority, it'll keep drinking up power as long as it doesn't hit the set max temp)

Doesn't look like it's set to either (there'll be a little marker)

Either way, I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the card isn't overheating.

Hey,  I got a question about a friend's 2080ti (Zotac AMP)

In Hitman 2 the card is drawing over 100% on power even though Power limit is set to 100% in Afterburner.  What would be the reason for this do you reckon?

it usually does that, the power throttling is not a hard limit.

Ah YES that's what's doing it.  I'd forgotten about that little nugget.  Thanks
