This is neat except I wouldn't dare use MAC OS.  I might put linux on the other side lol.

Thats funny, i just recently (few days ago) completed my Hackintosh laptop setup with Parallels (the best Windows virtual machine, you can run Windows windows in mac! its even integrated with dock). And its dualboot, Windows virtual machine is on separate partition, i can boot only Windows, boot only macOS or run macOS with Windows

How did you get around hardware pass through being broken. The latest mobo bios broke this on unraid.

This is pretty cool; there's benefits to both systems. Particularly, being so closely related to Unix you get a lot out of MacOS out of the box and a lot of stability. With Windows 10 you get fantastic drivers which really help for gaming and/or other applications.

Why not add a capture card on the mac and record the game with obs on the mac. It would remove these resources off the first system and remove the affect on your game. It could act as a dual stream system for streamers?

Yes they would be independent with their own ip addresses. It would act like two separate pc's.

That is what i was looking for a long time! I`d love to see full guide. Does any know what software did they use for virtualization?

I've say its a Linux distro like Manjaro running kvm hosting the two other VM's. Level1techs does a lot of this type of virtualization.

I wonder. Is the underlying Linux being run headless? 2 vms and 2 gpus, normally a gpu for linux is needed as well.

Or just run a X11 server on Windows 10 or XQuartz on Mac.

Can Windows 10 run Windows Subsystem for Linux  under Parallels?

And if so can mac OS run XQuatz as a Xserver  virtually networked connected to the Linux shell under windows?

What does this do? I have setup KVMs before and normally need to have a separate gpu for the underlying linux. If I can run single GPU KVM with the GPU assigned to windows instead of linux that would be great. I have a laptop I've wanted to do this with for a while now.

guys i have a question

say that i am dedicating all resources to my OSX vm, and running a windows vm in parallels inside of it

is there a way to launch that windows vm (either parallels or vmware) as a stand alone windows machine to make use of the ability to access gpu resources when needed ?

because the software allows you to port in your windows setup to use as a vm, so why not the opposite

Im wondering the same. Normaly they give some hints about the software used. Sadly there is no hint, how they pulled off.

I think this is possible, in parrallels you can enable nested virtualisation.

About that XQuartz i dont really know, i have a little experience with this but if i understand correctly the question i think its possible

You can partition your macos vm drive so parallels/vmware uses partition instead their own virtual disk format, then you can boot that windows installation either in parallels/vmware inside macos, or directly without launching macos. I have done something similar (i do not use kvm), just use two partitions (technically 4, mac efi, mac, windows efi, windows)

I choosed to this also because on laptops you have nvidia optimus and you cannot use your gtx (in my case gtx1060) in macos, with vm of windows booted from separate partition i can always boot to windows and do some heavy gpu stuff

So clearly the next step is getting wendell flown in, and splitting that display and a single PC between windows/mac/Linux right?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

I mean, they could change it up and start mentioning their hats, lanyards, and cable ties too. Or maybe even carrying Madrinas' Lambo Roast/Vanilla Cold Brew and other tech/non-tech goodies with the LTT branding..........
