Do you have a dedicated GPU?

The 3700X doesn't have an integrated graphics processor so you have to have  a dedicated GPU for it to work.

^ Only Ryzen CPUs with a G on the end have an iGPU, the normal ones and X models don't. You'll need a dGPU for any display output.

Which BIOS did you update to? You need the beta for 3000 series support:

Sure everything is connected properly? I always forget the CPU power connectors, and some people plug the display into the mobo outs by force of habit, with this setup you have to use the GPU outs.

This whole assembling shenanigan happened a few weeks ago with the help of my mates who are a lot more experienced than I am and I can't see any of these being the problem, though I do insist on doing it again, who knows maybe something wasn't right afterall. But not right now cause it's pretty late here.

If you still have the 2200G, I'd put it on a box with just the stock cooler and hook it up to power, then try a test POST (Power On Self Test, just need to see the BIOS flash screen, then you know it boots) to make sure it's not a mobo issue (could double check the BIOS version while you're at it).

Other than the wrong BIOS version or something not being put together right, I can't think of much that'll stop a PC from booting other than faulty hardware.

I'm right here using the PC like ever with the previous 2200G with the new BIOS

Might've misunderstood what you were saying at "putting the 2200G on a box" haha, I think I got it now

Ah, so you are on the PC right now (I wasn't sure when you got the screenshots, lol). It only refuses to boot with the 3700X? Could see if MSI support is any use, but a lot of OEMs are garbage on the CS side. I'll google around and see if it's a known bug.

Oh, you just put the CPU in the mobo and set it on the mobo box, using it as a basic test bench. Pretty standard practice, the motherboard box is the right size, comes with the mobo, doesn't generate static and is non-conductive. You usually do a quick boot to BIOS with everything outside the case before you put it all together.

Yeah I'm not going to do anything right now as it's 23:11 here. I'll call it a day and try things out tomorrow with a fresher mind and my mates.

Thanks for the help so far though!

Hey did you ever find a work around? Ive run into the same problem as you

Oh my god what a coincidence that you got here exactly now! I haven't used the site ever since and I was about to make another thread about another question of mine.

I was able to do it since then but I have no idea what could've been the problem in the first place. Make sure to download every single bios update that is newer than yours. That's what I did anyways.
