Hi. I was having some issues with trying to control the lights on my AMD Wraith Prism cooler with the ASRock Polychrome Sync software (I'm using the ASRock B450M Pro4). After some digging, I finally found the correct header to connect the 4 pin RGB cable into and was able to control the LED for the blades of the cooler.

However, the outer LED ring remains to be stuck on RGB cycle effect and can not be changed. After some more research, I found out that it can be controlled with the Cooler Master software by connecting the USB cable from the cooler to the motherboard's USB 2.0 header.

Is there any other way to control the LED ring light without the USB cable, since I bought the cooler with the CPU secondhand and it only comes with the 4 pin RGB cable

Thanks for the help

No you have to have the USB 2.0 cable to be able to software control it with the cooler master software. If the RGB header is connected with the 4 pin RGB you should be able to control it with the motherboard light control you will need to use Asrock RGB Sync.

I did used the Asrock Polychrome software to control the light of the inner fan blades but it can't control the LED ring outside. It's such a hassle to be honest

Ok then you will need that USB 2.0 cable to be able to control the lighting it appears it is necessary for full control. I can't find anywhere to buy just that specific cable, if it's a big deal to you, you may have to just buy a new cooler that has the cables included.

Yeah they don't sell that cable as replacement anywhere as far as I can see. It's a bit of a bummer.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Hey, sorry for the slow reply. I haven't contacted them but I don't think that they will even bother sending a single USB cable as replacement, especially as I got a secondhanded unit. Do you think I should give it a shot anyway?

There's no downside to trying. If it's secondhand, you probably won't get one though.
