Hi

Long story short, got a motherboard which there was a bent pin on. I successfully bent back the pin and the PC starts as usual, can enter bios, change settings and save and everything works as long as i don't try to boot Windows 10 or Windows 10 recovery usb thingie.

Its a 50-50 if i just randomly freeze or if i get machine-check exception.

I've tried this:
- Checking the old bent pin again and the rest of the pins (which seems to be good.)
- Changed boot harddrive
- Changing GPU

- Trying a Windows reinstall (Doesn't get further than the first loading screen..)

Sometimes i get in to Windows 10 and i can run it for about 5-10 minutes before either freezing or getting machine-check exception again.
Any help or tips of what the issue could be would be nice..

EDIT: Here is the config:
- Intel Core i5-7600K
- MSI Z270-S02
- 2x4GB Samsung 2400mhz (OR) 1x4GB Samsung 2400mhz (OR) 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3000mhz (no mix-match, both sets work in a AM4 board)

What is the backstory of this motherboard? Was it sold to you used? It's entirely possible it was sold under the false-pretense that a bent socket pin was the only thing wrong with it.

It was sold to me second hand as functioning. Which makes it very frustrating..
Probably going to talk to him tomorrow about this if i cant figure out whats wrong

EDIT: Also, if it was the only thing wrong it should work? Or not? Cause the pin itself doesnt seem to be the issue anymore

Talked to the guy that sold it to me today and he thought it was working. After showing proof and video of me showing the bent pin and when i tried fixing it we came to the conclusion that i only pay for the ram. (So got money back for mobo+cpu and remaining ram price was discussed over the current retail market price.)

Anyhow i still think i might be able to fix the board if i figure out whats wrong with it. So my question now is has anyone else had this specific issue? MCE or freeze at startup/freezing when trying to reinstall with USB? Should i try installing windows with a disk instead?

Any help is appreciated :)
