I need advice on what cpu cooler i should have on my new pc build ( I am new to pc building)

My PC Build is for mid - high end gaming (open world and other big AAA games) and architecture programs (Archicad, Revit, AutoCad). I am also a multitasker, i have 2 monitors.

I am looking at

CPU: i7-9700k (i am not sure about this cpu since it has no hyper threading)

Motherboard: Z390 AORUS ELITE

GPU: GTX 1080 (I already own it (not liquid cooled))

Case: Fractal Design R6

I was thinking of :

Noctua NH-D15, H100i or liquid cooling

My question is, Liquid cooling is it alot better or is it not worth the trouble? I have seen a couple of liquid cooling builds and they look epic. What are the ups and downs of liquid cooling?

Water cooling just looks cool. Air cooling gives identical performance

Dumbest thing I’ve seen posted in awhile.

Are you only talking about the cpu, get what ever you want. Need an actual goal to decide a part. If you wonna consider aio’s liquid cooling, you’re gonna end up the same as a fancy air cooler. Assuming you have the room. A 360 can fit in there but you lose fresh air for the gpu.

Liquid cooling has more moving parts due to the addition of a pump when compared to air cooling. Because of the increased complexity, it's more prone to failure and generally can't be as quiet.

What features are you looking for in a cooler and why are you looking at these coolers in particular?

Again, dumbest thing I’ve heard. No air cooler will keep up with a custom loop. Unless it’s the smallest one you can build.

But it we are gonna compare some mid tier aio, to a twin tower than sure.

Still comes with compromise just like using an aio.

As it would seem. Didn't realize people thought otherwise as its simple basics.

Pretty much how I feel. Guess I can get rid of my loops and get an aio for my cpu. I’m sure it can work just as well and keep my cpu 50c. Go back to letting my cards sit at 80c and lose over 100mhz via gpu boost. Also by some sound canceling headphones for those few fans running at 100% to be even close to keeping it running for long periods.

A aio vs a big tower cooler,The tower cooler will win but not by much.A full custom loop depending how much rad space it can run cooler and a lot quieter also. The pros to me it will keep your parts running cooler so more life out of them.Depending how much rads you can run your fans slower so it runs quieter. The cons the price can be a big one.Cleaning/prep the loop can take a while. And up keep can be a con to some also. You gotta drain and flush the coolant every 6 months to a year depending what you use.Stick to a clear coolant unless you wanna take the blocks off and clean them with a tooth brush every coolant change.
