I was not sure where to post this one to be honest, anyway I have got a 2 pc stream setup as some may know from my previous questions. Recently I seen some ideas online of changing my setup about a little bit, one of which i seen also some of the editors do. Which is simply turning the stream/2nd monitor portrait instead of landscape. What do you guys do your self? Do you prefer to have both screens landscape or do you turn one portrait and the other landscape. For help stream pc is a 1080p tv 24 i think and gaming is a ultra wide lg monitor.

Usually people go landscape for both monitors, but if you want portrait for one of the monitors that would be fine.

24"? That could be usable in portrait. I've tried that with 20" monitor, and it didn't really work. It was too narrow to get text look like it was on paper A4.

It will be personal preference anyway, so I suggest you test it out yourself.

having a monitor on portrait would allow for

  • longer paragraphs in view (print/text work, coding, long webpages, etc)
  • a quick way to hold two windows in landscape stacked vertically (e.g. 1 footage preview, 1 main sequence preview), so you don't have to get two monitors in landscape stacked vertically
    • although the playback resolution would be lower since the short end is now the long end, but personally I'm not too bummed on it because it's still longer than 720p

Thanks for the help I have been trying this for a couple a days i did notice the difference you get as i am able to like you say stack the web browser at the bottom and streamlabs on top.
