Home thetre not giving sound

I am trying to setup a home thetre via hdmi cable but there is no audio but when i use aux there is sound and all the hdmi ports have arc

Tv: Philips 55pus6561/12

Home thetre: Samsung HT-Z215

Cant seem to find info on that Home Theater system. Maybe you wrote the model number wrong. Any who, does the Home Theater system support ARC? Thats the $65 million dollar question. Im pretty sure both devices have to support it.

make sure the tv hdmi is plugged into the recievers out. then make sure setting in both are set for arc

My tv has only hdmi arc ports

i know. what im saying is make sure the hdmi from the tv is PLUGGED INTO THE RECEIVERS OUT. and make sure receivers setting is also set to use arc

Is the HDMI Audio setting turned off? Page 59 of the manual shows the steps to turn that off/on. As for audio going from the TV to the receiver, it doesn't look like this receiver supports HDMI ARC.

 

Looks like the TV has optical out, though, and the receiver has optical in, so you could likely just pass audio that way. I know it's an extra line, but that looks to be your best bet.
