1440p@144hz or 1080p@240hz
Go for 1440p 144hz.
240hz is 'currently' a marketing 'gimmick'.
Before 'certain' people jump on me read this.
Frame Time: and difference between each figure
60hz/fps = 16.6ms
84 / 9.7 This is a noticeable difference, and the vast majority of people will very much notice this.
144hz/fps = 6.9ms
96 / 2.7 This is far less noticeable difference.
240hz/fps = 4.2ms
The frequency / FPS difference may be similar, but the frame time difference is so much smaller it results in a perceptual difference just as small.
Add on top of that , that technically even the newest and best TN displays cannot maintain ALL transitions below 4.2ms without having a terrible image quality. Those that supposedly maintain below 4.2ms dont include overshoot in the measurements, if they did , the time it takes a pixel to re adjust for overshoot brings the transition time way above 4.2ms. The result of overshoot visually is inverse ghosting ..aka overshoot.. which displays as a brighter ghosting image trailing moving objects. On top of that , current 240hz displays have terrible picture quality.
If choosing 240hz requires u to drop from 1440p to 1080p, its most certainly not worth it.
